EIRA
Eira is located in beautiful surroundings in Møre og Romsdal and is part of the Auravassdraget which starts on Aursjøen 856 meters above sea level. Eira flows through Eikesdalsvatnet which is about 20 km long and which has served as the heart of the river throughout the ages. From Eikesdalsvatnet and further down towards the sea, about 7 km, are the most famous salmon stretches. One of these is Siramoen, a beautiful cottage yard with all facilities with very attractive salmon and sea trout pools. Siramoen cooperates with Engelskhuset on the opposite side of the river and it is these two stretches that have always been at the top when it comes to catches in Eira.
Here, kings and other celebrities make a pilgrimage year after year to try their luck against the large Eira salmon. Eira was one of the rivers in Norway with the largest salmon and can boast of adventurous big salmon catches throughout history. The English started fishing around 1863 and helped to influence fishing and the surroundings in the valley. This led, among other things, to the construction of two salmon farms, Engelskhuset on Syltebø and Siramoen. Both with very good facilities and location with access to the supposed best fishing lines. There is and has always been very limited access to Siramoen as most fishermen will return year after year.
