BRILLIANT. FANTASTIC. MAGICAL.
The superlatives came easily during and after our dream trip to Greenland for Arctic char fishing. Never before had the lads on the trip experienced a fishing and nature experience quite like the one we had on this trip. Possibly with the exception of Simon, who has been here a few times before and may have experienced something similar, but for the rest of the fishing group this was a completely new and fantastic experience. A trip for the history books.
It is actually difficult to explain and describe how good this was. That is how good it was. This is the kind of fishing we have hardly heard or read was possible to experience, at a time when so much is going wrong with salmon, trout and Arctic char around the world. Greenland is the counterweight right now, because here there was a lot of fish.
Not only was there a lot of fish. There was also untouched nature, with exciting wildlife on top of it all. Absolutely fantastic to experience.
Above are pictures from Asle N. from Bergen. Asle had the fishing experience of a lifetime on this trip. I asked Asle one day when we met along the river: how is it going? Have you had any fish today? His answer was: I have lost count, this is completely crazy...
Fantastic, exciting and rugged nature. Extra nice that we were also served fresh Arctic char on some of the days. That creates a good atmosphere.
There were many good impressions on this trip. It will take some time to digest it all.
Above, our pleasant lodge team, who delivered brilliant food and made sure at all times that everything was in order. Yngve, on the left, also contributed good stories and the occasional song. Unforgettable. Peter, together with his daughter Johanna, constantly surprised us with service and presence like no other. And Johanna, those desserts were simply magical. We hope you are ready for new adventures in Greenland next year too.
We stayed in tents, and everyone had their own tent with wooden floor, chair, camp bed and sleeping mat. A large fixed lodge tent was where we ate and told good stories. The atmosphere was excellent throughout the week.
There were many pictures of fish in the net. We were often alone while fishing, even though we walked out two by two. Often there were a few metres between the fishers, so there were not so many trophy pictures holding the fish up and forward. But that is completely fine. We carry the memories in both head and heart forever. But a good net is useful to bring.
This fish gave yours truly a brilliant fight on the new 2instincts trout rod, 9 ft in class 5, which will be ready for delivery in spring 2025. There is hardly a better test station for rods when we are talking about a light single-handed fly rod. More than 50 fish were landed on this rod during the stay in Greenland, and everything worked very well. I am extremely pleased to be able to expand the N2 series. The N2 rods also landed many hundreds of fish on this trip, and everyone who used N2 was very satisfied. That warms the heart.
Above are a number of pictures from those who joined this dream trip. Thank you for sharing pictures.
The fishing group.
Simon from Oslo, who has been here before, gave the rest of us good advice along the way, and we thank him again for that. Fritz from Oslo and Asle from Bergen had very many fish in the net during the week. Brilliant, and thank you for the kind feedback on the N2 rods. Jan Sivert had many fine fish, as well as a number of good and exciting photos. Jan Sivert is also very interested in photography, and in Greenland there was plenty to choose from in terms of subjects. Cool that the weather made it extra exciting to be a photographer too.
Asle K. also had brilliant fishing, with many different flies and methods. Here Asle really got to enjoy himself and try out fishing methods according to the conditions. Very enjoyable to discuss this in the evenings too. Excellent.
Leif from Os outside Bergen has joined many fishing trips over many years. The trip to Greenland gave Leif big and fine fish, and many great fishing moments that will never be forgotten. Very enjoyable, and big congratulations to Leif, who was also rewarded with fine fish on Gobiten. Naturally, a Gobiten pin was presented during dinner on the final evening :-)
Thank you to everyone who joined this Greenland trip. An unforgettable fishing and nature experience that will be remembered for a long time.
Best regards from a very satisfied tour leader, who is already working on the details for the next trip to Greenland, 2025.
Please get in touch about available rods. Here we give a fishing guarantee :-)
