Welcome to casting courses in spring 2026.
Yours truly will once again hold casting courses in Western Norway
for the coming season, 2026.
We have divided the courses into 3 different types of course.
Course A. Getting started
This course is for those who want to get started with fly casting and fly fishing. No previous experience is required.
This course runs over 3 evenings, each lasting approximately 3 hours. On this course we show details of the equipment we use for single-handed fly fishing. Fly choice. Leader. Fly line. The function and use of the fly rod, as well as everything else that is useful to have in the bag when heading out to fish with a fly. After the course, you should have a good foundation for catching fish on the fly. Loan of single-handed equipment is included in the course. By that we mean rod, reel, line, leader and fly/yarn indicator. You can of course use your own equipment if you have it. Unsure? We will work that out together.
Price per participant for this course, which runs over 3 evenings, is Kr 1500. We have a maximum of 6 participants per course. The course must be paid for well before it starts.
Course B. Refreshing your skills
This course is for those who have tried fly fishing and/or fly casting before, but who would like a refresher. We go through the fly fishing equipment and show the different types of casts that are most practical to know for good fishing. Personal follow-up on casting details, adapted to each participant's level. Both single-handed and double-handed rods can be used.
This course runs over 2 evenings, each lasting approximately 3 hours.
Price per participant for this course, which runs over 2 evenings, is Kr 1000. We have a maximum of 4 participants per course. The course must be paid for well before it starts.
Course C. Let the rod do the work
A course for more experienced casters who want to refine their casting, and go deeper into practical fly fishing. This course is for both single-handed and double-handed fishers.
Sometimes only small adjustments are needed in a fly cast to get that good feeling in the cast itself. Here we go through all the details for a clean, practical fly cast without unnecessary use of energy. Let the rod do the work. We simply set the rod to work, with the right casting movements and the right use of power for a good presentation of the fly.
Price per participant for this course, which runs over 2 evenings, is Kr 1000. We have a maximum of 4 participants per course. The course must be paid for well before it starts.
Course evening outstanding.
We have noted that some of you who have attended courses earlier still have one evening outstanding. For you, just get in touch and we will find an evening that suits.
Course dates.
Dates and locations for the different courses will come in the new year, and in good time before spring makes its arrival. When booking a course, please include which day of the week suits you best. I will try to adapt the evenings as well as possible.
After holding countless casting and fishing courses, fishing schools and fishing trips with courses over several decades, I still take great pleasure in communicating the details of fly fishing. I still find it enjoyable when new fly fishers succeed in the sport that has been my great passion for more than 50 years.
